The Stensö headland south of Kalmar is dog paradise with forest and sea — large off-leash areas in winter (Sep–Mar). The Öland Bridge takes 6 minutes by car and the whole island is dog-friendly — Böda sand in the north (5 km beach), Stenåsa, Eckelsudde and Ottenby bird reserve in the south are classics.
